Klippe Rivier's original 'waenhuis' (wagon house) and stables have been converted into luxury air-conditioned bedrooms, preserving much of the original ambience. On the ground floor are spacious bedrooms, each with an open fireplace, dressing room, generous bathroom with separate shower and toilet, and charming walled garden. The upstairs loft rooms have an under-the-thatch country atmosphere with large private balconies and wonderful mountain views. Heated towel rails, cotton bed linen and generous bath sheets ensure a most comfortable holiday here at Klippe Rivier.
Set apart from the Klippe Rivier main lodge and adjoining suites, is a secluded cottage ideal for honeymooners. The heady scent of orange blossom hits you as you walk up the path to the cottage, and roses climb around the front door.
At Klippe Rivier you can expect excellent country cuisine and fine local wines in a true country house setting. The resident chef makes good use of seasonal produce such as hand-picked wild porcini mushrooms (ceps) from the nearby pine forest, fresh young asparagus and rich red youngberries - a speciality of the area. Klippe Rivier's herb garden is surrounded by an orange orchard, which gives off the most divine fragrance.
